Does coastal corrosion reduce what I am paid?

How do I get my Certificate of Destruction?

The Authorised Treatment Facility that destroys the vehicle issues the Certificate of Destruction, and must do so within seven days. It is the legal record that the car has been permanently removed from the road and that you no longer carry responsibility for it.

All buyers in our network are licensed ATFs, so every scrapped vehicle generates a CoD automatically. Hold on to it, particularly if the car is being scrapped after an insurance write-off.

How will payment be made?

By bank transfer, at or before collection. Paying cash for scrap vehicles has been illegal in England and Wales since the Scrap Metal Dealers Act 2013, so a doorstep cash offer is a clear sign the buyer is unlicensed and will not provide a valid Certificate of Destruction.
